DKNY stands for Donna Karan, New York, and is the bridge line to the Donna Karan collection. Donna Karan created the concept of the bridge line when she worked as the head designer at Anne Klein years before. She developed the DKNY line as a supplement to her collection when she saw the need for a younger, trendier lifestyle line for her daughter, Gabby. The DKNY line is an entire outfit for the modern woman, as per the designer’s philosophy. Donna Karan seeks to create a whole system for women, with all of the essential pieces to go from work to play, day to night.
